A Review Of United Position By Position And Who To Buy To Improve Our Team

A Review Of United Position By Position And Who To Buy To Improve Our Team

I am going to review each position of our team and reveal who I think we should or shouldn't buy and how the future in that position looks.

Goalkeeper: Despite the scrutiny from the press I believe our goalkeeper situation is not actually a problem. De Gea is already one of the best shot stoppers in the world and with a bit of improvement in the air from set pieces De Gea will become one of the best keepers in the world. I strongly think that in 5-6 years De Gea will be the best keeper in the world. We also have plenty of young back up as well in Anders Lindegaard, Ben Amos and Sam Johnstone; All of these have great futures ahead of him.

I do not think that we should buy anyone as our goalkeepers are more than adequate and are all going to improve in time.

Right Backs: I think we have very strong depth in the right back position with a Rafael as the standout performer. Rafael has the ability to become a top right back because of his defensive ability and the way he can bomb down the wing overlapping with the wingers. United have great back ups such as Chris Smalling and if needed Phil Jones.

Due to the ability of Rafael and the great depth we have I do not think we need anymore right backs.

Center Backs: We are yet to get a consistent center back pairing due to injuries. However if all our center backs stay fit I believe we have a very strong group of players to choose from. My preferred center back pairing would be Rio due to his strength and aerial ability and Phil Jones because of his pace and on the ball ability. I believe this would make a great duo. With back up of Vidic and Evans we won't be left short at the center back position.

If we had the money to spend I think Mats Hummels would a amazing signing and would help us create the best center back pairing in the league.

Left Back: Left back is a position that we are struggling at. Even though Evra is having a good season and I am a huge fan, I think that he is very soon going to start declining very soon. I am also a fan of Buttner but do not think he is of world class ability to be United's starting left back.

In my opinion Filipe Luis is a left back we should seriously look at signing. Definitely he is by far better than the likes of Marcelo and would be a great signing for our team.

Center Midfielders:  United have an odd issue in the center of midfield. United have no big, hard hitting center midfielder such as a Roy Keane. But the issue comes with if United buy a new center midfielder who do they replace, you can not bench Cleverley who is currently in top form and has a great future ahead of him so to bench him would be pointless. On the other hand you can not bench Carrick at any cost. A player that has got much stick over the years, undeserved stick, is proving that he is a world class center midfielder. The way he holds onto the ball, retains possession and dictates the pace of the game is quite simply, amazing. For example in the West Ham replay Carrick did not start, and at 1-0 West Ham were coming back into the game. Carrick came on a kept the ball and steadied the ship. So we have a peculiar center midfield issue.

If we are going to buy a new center midfielder who has a Roy Keane playing style I would recommend Victor Wanyama as he is big, strong and hard hitting.

Right/Left Wing: United have a very strong bunch of wingers who can all play on both wings in Nani, Valencia, Young and now Zaha although Zaha will now be loaned back to Crystal Palace as part of the deal. I personally think that our group of wingers are easily good enough.

I personally do not think that we should buy anyone.

Strikers: By far are best position, ability wise and depth wise. Any team would want our strike partnership of Van Persie, Rooney, Welbeck and Hernandez. I am certain that all of these strikers would start for any other team in the Premier League including the likes of Chelsea and City. Van Persie is easily the best striker in the world at this moment in time. To make things better United have many top quality youngsters as well such as Henriquez, Powell and Will Keane. The future of our striker force is looking really safe indeed.

Obviously there is reason to buy a new striker and even if we did I do not think we would be able to improve our strike force that much.

This is in my opinion is a real team of Champions

Wilfried Zaha Signing

No comments:
 Wilfried Zaha

The news many United fans would of been looking forward to, Wilfried Zaha is about to have a medical and is on the verge of signing a 5 and a half year deal for with the transfer fee is believed to be around £15m with an agreement to send him back on loan to Palace for the remainder of the season. A player that will fit the "United" way, of two pacey wingers such as Valencia, Ronaldo, Giggs and Beckham, bombing down wings crossing ball after ball into the box.

Zaha has been a first team player for Palace since the 2010/2011 season and has improved considerably during his time in the first team. With 15 goals and 16 assists Zaha has shown that he has many dimensions to his game. The season of 2011/2012 was the year Zaha really landed into the limelight as he dazzled and out played many a defender, and was instantly linked with clubs such as United, City and Arsenal.

This video below shows Wilfried Zaha's abilities:

Personally I have rated Zaha for a very long time and see nothing wrong with this transfer apart from the fact he has never played in the Premier League before which is not much of a major problem. Zaha is a quick, strong winger who can beat defenders using his pace and strength as well as his skill with the ball at his feet. To cap it all off he can cross and just as importantly shoot showing he is an all rounded player. I would go as far as to say he has the potential to become one of the best players in the Premier League with in five years.

However there is the issue of who he will replace next season or who he will rotate with. With United's current forwards of RVP, Rooney, Hernandez, Welbeck, Henriquez and Powell it is evident that Zaha is not being brought as another striker which is his second favoured posistion. This means he is being signed as a out and out winger so next season he will compete with the likes of Valencia, Nani, Young and occasionally Kagawa depending on what formation Fergie decides to use. As it stands I believe that Zaha would come in and replace Nani straight away who has evidently fallen out of favour with Fergie and could lead to Nani leaving this summer. Wherever he plays I think Zaha has a great future ahead of him at United.
